REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES

1) Scope & definitions

Products: aftermarket head units, fascia/frame kits and related accessories.
Faulty: does not meet the consumer guarantees (e.g., not of acceptable quality, not matching description, unfit for disclosed purpose).
Fitment‑critical: items that must physically match your vehicle’s interior (e.g., fascia/frame kits, head units with model‑specific dashboards).
Delivery date: the date the carrier marks the parcel as delivered.

2) Your non‑excludable rights (ACL)

2.1 If a product fails to meet the consumer guarantees, you are entitled to a remedy. For a major failure, you may choose a refund or replacement. For non‑major failures, we will repair or replace within a reasonable time. You may also claim compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
2.2 It’s against the law for businesses to mislead consumers about these rights (e.g., by saying “no refunds”). Our policies operate in addition to your ACL rights.

3) Our voluntary policies (on top of the ACL)

3.1 30‑day free return for faulty items. If your product is faulty within 30 days of delivery, we will provide a prepaid return label (or reimburse standard return costs with proof). After inspection, we’ll repair, replace or refund. This does not limit your ACL rights after 30 days.
3.2 Transit damage / missing parts. Please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos so we can raise a carrier claim and organise a remedy.
3.3 Change‑of‑mind. As stated in our Terms, we generally don’t accept change‑of‑mind returns for internationally shipped, fitment‑specific items. If we approve a discretionary return, it must be unused, unopened and you pay return shipping; a restocking fee may apply. (No fee for faulty goods.)

4) Fitment Assurance (for fascia/frame & head unit fit)

We want the physical fit to be right the first time. If you complete the steps below at checkout or within 36 hours of ordering (before dispatch), you qualify for our Fitment Assurance:

Upload & Notes (required):

  • Upload clear photos of your dashboard/centre console (and OEM head unit if visible).

  • In the order notes, include make, model, year, series/trim, and any factory options (e.g., premium audio, OEM camera). Optionally add your VIN.

  • If we request extra photos or details, please provide them. We may confirm by email before shipping.

Your remedies under Fitment Assurance:

  • If, after reasonable troubleshooting and professional installation, the item physically does not fit your stated vehicle (fascia mismatch, mounting points cannot be made to fit as designed), choose either:
    (a) Exchange at our cost (we cover return shipping and send the correct variant), or
    (b) Full refund (we cover the return shipping) once the item and all accessories are returned.

  • If the issue is software or wiring‑feature retention (e.g., SWC or reverse camera), the SWC/Camera clause in Section 7 applies.

When Fitment Assurance doesn’t apply:

  • If the Upload & Notes were not completed before dispatch;

  • The vehicle has aftermarket changes (dash replaced/modified) or differs materially from the photos provided;

  • Installation was not carried out with reasonable care or professional standards.

We’ll still help with an Exchange (Section 5) if Fitment Assurance does not apply.

5) Exchange (when Fitment Assurance steps weren’t completed)

5.1 You may request an exchange for a different variant if the item is unused and undamaged with all accessories and packaging.
5.2 Shipping: You pay return shipping and the outbound shipping for the replacement.
5.3 Price difference: If the replacement costs more, pay the difference; if less, we issue a store credit for the balance.
5.4 Inspection: We’ll inspect returns; deductions may apply for missing/damaged parts.
5.5 If the replacement isn’t available, we’ll offer alternatives or a refund at our discretion (this does not affect ACL rights for faulty goods).

6) Items not eligible for return (except where faulty under the ACL)

  • Items damaged by improper installation, misuse or modification;

  • Opened consumables (e.g., adhesive pads) and items with tamper seals removed;

  • Custom‑cut items (e.g., tailored mats) when correct size was supplied per your order (Fitment Assurance applies only if your photos/notes showed the correct vehicle and we confirmed fit).

7) Steering‑wheel controls (SWC) & reverse‑camera retention

As set out in our Terms, because vehicle wiring can vary, SWC/camera retention may not be possible on every vehicle. After troubleshooting:

  • choose AU$30 cashback to keep the unit as is, or

  • return the unit for a full refund (you pay return shipping unless required by law).
    This adds to your ACL rights for faulty goods.

8) Colour & finish variation (fascia/frame kits)

Minor colour/texture variation is normal due to manufacturing tolerances and cabin lighting. Minor variation is not a defect. If the finish is materially different from our description/photos, contact us within 7 days with images and we’ll assess a remedy.

9) How to start a return or exchange

  1. Email support@drivermods.com.au with your order number and a description of the issue.

  2. Attach photos/video (and installation photos if relevant).

  3. We’ll issue an RMA number and provide the AU returns depot address and, where applicable, a prepaid label.

  4. Pack the item securely with all harnesses, brackets and accessories; include the RMA in/on the box.

  5. On receipt, we’ll inspect and process your remedy promptly (generally 3–5 business days from receipt).

10) Refunds — method & timing

Refunds are made to the original payment method. Once approved, please allow your bank/card provider’s standard processing time after our confirmation.

11) Warranty after 30 days

Our standard 12‑month limited warranty applies (unless stated otherwise on the product page). Warranty remedies run alongside your ACL rights.

12) International & customs

Prices generally exclude duties/taxes. These are typically non‑refundable by us once paid to authorities; you may seek a refund directly from the authority where applicable.
